Clerk Typist II, Ankeny, IA
Job Summary
The State Hygienic Laboratory (SHL) at the University of Iowa under contract with the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Clerk Typist II in the Ankeny Iowa facility. The primary function of the position is to contribute to the Newborn Screening section of the State Hygienic Laboratory. This position is expected to provide superior customer service and support to the SHL clientele via telephone and other modes of communication. The primary responsibilities will include answering the main phone line clerical duties such as data entry data management customer services responding to customer requests etc.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Position Status: Part Time (50% FTE)
Work Location: Ankeny IA
Work Modality: On-site

Pay Grade: 05
Qualifications:
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Any combination of clerical office experience undergraduate education and/or post high school clerical training that is the equivalent to one year of full-time employment.
Desirable Qualifications:
Ability to perform tasks that require accuracy attention to detail including accurate record keeping.
Basic office experience.
Previous experience in data entry
Knowledge of clinical terminology.
Excellent communication and customer service skills is a must.
