CLASSIFIED: Full Time Exempt
LOCATION: Brookings

JOB SUMMARY: The Program Coordinator is responsible for planning implementing and evaluating the Program including grant addition the Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing the five key elements of positive youth development: fun safety recognition opportunities & expectations and supportive relationships in all daily interactions. The Program Coordinator is expected to uphold the Club values inside and outside of the Club and hold their staff accountable for maintaining the Club values. The Club values include teamwork impact-driven excellence & good character.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Program Duties:
- Approves program plans including specialized and night programming.
- Ensure all programming is high quality fun and engaging
- Evaluate Club programs report findings and take appropriate action to correct
- Establishes an environment that ensures the health and safety of members
- Expected to be proactive and flexible while working with youth parents the community and Club staff
- Assist in designing impact programs that produce measurable outcomes
- Responsible for communicating daily with the Elementary Director on overall Club and program operations
- Responsible for completing all required program updates for newsletters publications etc.
- Responsible for creating and implementing membership outreach strategies for l youth
- Responsible for working in collaboration with community partners to enhance services
- All other duties as assigned
- Responsible for holding the biweekly team and individual one-on-one meetings with all direct reports
- Responsible for hiring supervising and evaluating direct reports
- Required to be on the floor assisting with floor management when members are in the Club
- Responsible for managing behavioral and disciplinary issues
- Provides leadership and direction to volunteers and staff
- Attendance to meetings is required and expected.
- Promote the Club during school open houses community events etc.
- Assist Program Directors with new member orientation
- Responsible for assisting with all special events at the Club
- On snow days and unexpected full days covering all shifts to ensure the Club can open
- Manage budget and grant requirements
- Responsible for creating the staff schedule
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree or three years equivalent experience in a similar field preferred
- Minimum of 1-year experience with youth services organizations
- Must understand implement and demonstrate principles of behavior management and other youth treatment modalities per the Club training and values of fun supportive relationships recognition opportunities and expectations and safety.
- Must be able to provide leadership on-the-spot and reflective feedback and supervision to assigned employees to ensure they too understand and demonstrate principles of behavior management and other youth treatment modalities per the Club training and values of fun supportive relationships recognition opportunities and expectations and safety.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be of the mental and physical capacity to observe interact and communicate with youth staff volunteers parents etc. at the Club to ensure the safety of the space and others provide guidance and reflection per the Club priority outcomes and goals
- Ability to stand/sit for long periods throughout a shift
- Ability to operate various types of general office equipment including PC telephone copier etc.
- This position is considered to be safety-sensitive.
