Job Summary
Your Role at St John of God Health Care Berwick Hospital
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Instrument Technician Grade 3 to join our Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) in a permanent fulltime role.
This senior position requires a high level of autonomy and accountability supporting the daytoday operations of the department.
You will be responsible for the processing sterilisation autoclaving and distribution of instruments and supplies working largely without direct supervision while ensuring compliance with infection control standards and best practice.
Berwick CSSD is a dynamic and supportive team providing reprocessing services for Surgery and other clinical areas across St John of God Berwick Hospital. The department operates between 7:00am and 10:00pm offering 8hour and 10hour shifts.
The Position
Responsible for processing autoclaving and distributing sterile supplies to all internal and external customers.
Liaise with all caregivers in the Operating Suite to assist with the provision of individual holistic care to ensure the highest standard of safe and skilled practice is provided which is consistent with the established objectives of the Nursing Department.
Able to become an integral member of a nursing team to provide optimal patient care for all patients at St John of God Healthcare their families and significant others.
Communicate effectively with all customers and patients using the appropriate channels utilising appropriate formal and informal channels of communication.
Participate in contribute to and implement quality improvement and risk management into all aspects of service.
You will have a minimum of six (6) months experience as an Instrument Technician and be undergoing training to complete the Certificate III in Sterilisation Services.
To succeed in this role you will have a current understanding of legislation and standards relating to Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) compliance requirements infection control and WorkCover.

Salary: $69489 to $71091 per annum depending on qualification (pro rata basis) per annum plus 12% superannuation
