Assistant Regional Skills Center Director
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Current Base Salary Range: $146779 - $165905 as per MLPA contract

POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Regional Skills Center Director supports the Director in providing leadership coordination and operational oversight of a regional skills center serving multiple partner school districts. This position assists in the development implementation and continuous improvement of high-quality career and technical education (CTE) programs aligned with regional workforce needs industry standards and state requirements.
The Assistant Director works collaboratively with participating districts staff students community partners and industry representatives to expand student access and ensure effective program delivery. This role helps ensure strong organizational systems compliance and day-to-day operational efficiency of the skills center.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Leadership and Program Support
- Assist in implementing the vision goals and strategic direction of the Regional Skills Center.
- Support the development and expansion of CTE programs aligned with regional labor market needs.
- Collaborate with partner districts to support program alignment and student opportunities.
- Assist in program evaluation and continuous improvement processes.
- Support the development of new programs in response to workforce demand and emerging industries.
- Plan coordinate and manage the CB Tech Summer School program including staffing scheduling student enrollment and program implementation.
Regional Collaboration
- Support communication and coordination between participating school districts.
- Participate in meetings with district representatives and stakeholders.
- Assist in building partnerships with local businesses industry leaders workforce organizations and postsecondary institutions.
- Support articulation agreements and dual credit opportunities.
- Represent the skills center in regional meetings and initiatives as assigned.
Student Access and Support
- Assist in ensuring equitable student access across all participating districts.
- Support recruitment enrollment and scheduling processes.
- Monitor student participation retention and completion data.
- Assist in coordinating work-based learning opportunities such as internships job shadowing and apprenticeships.
- Support student leadership opportunities through CTE student organizations.
- Assist in planning and delivering student assemblies.
- Assist in the continued development of a safe professional learning environment.
Staff Supervision and Development
- Assist in supervising instructional and support staff.
- Participate in staff hiring processes as assigned.
- Support professional development aligned with industry standards and instructional best practices.
- If holding a valid administrator certificate conduct evaluations of certificated staff in accordance with state law district procedures and applicable collective bargaining agreements.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
Fiscal and Operational Support
- Assist in managing the skills center budget and monitoring expenditures.
- Support grant implementation and tracking of state federal and local funds.
- Assist with purchasing equipment management and facility coordination.
Compliance and Accountability
- Support compliance with federal state and district regulations.
- Assist in preparing required reports for OSPI and other agencies.
- Help ensure programs meet all CTE and Skills Center requirements.
- Support implementation of safety protocols across all programs and facilities.
Community and Industry Engagement
- Assist in coordinating advisory committees with industry professionals.
- Support community outreach marketing and public relations efforts.
- Participate in events showcases and industry engagement activities.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of career and technical education programs and workforce development systems.
- Understanding of regional labor market trends and workforce needs.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple school districts and partners.
- Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to support program implementation and evaluation.
- Knowledge of education regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters degree in education educational leadership career and technical education or a related field.
- Washington State Administrator Certificate preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in education CTE or program coordination/leadership.
- Experience working with staff students or educational programs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in or with a regional skills center or CTE programs.
- Knowledge of Washington State CTE and Skills Center requirements.
- Experience supporting industry partnerships or work-based learning programs.
- Experience working in multi-district or collaborative environments.
- Experience with grant implementation or program coordination.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is performed in an office and educational environment with frequent interaction with staff students and community partners.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
- Travel between participating school districts industry sites and partner institutions is required.
