About the Opportunity
As the Senior Work Order Coordinatorfor Austal Defence Australia (ADA) youll beresponsible for the end-to end coordination and governance of work order creation. The role provides leadership and assurance to a team of trade specific work order coordinators and ensures work orders are planned scheduled and issued in alignment with the production schedule cost safety and quality. The role acts as the key interface between Planning Engineering Production Supply Chain Quality.

Whats Involved
- Lead and manage a team of work order coordinators across multiple trades.
- Oversee the creation validation and closure of work orders ensuring compliance with engineering quality and production standards.
- Ensure work orders are production-ready including all required materials and documentation.
- Act as the primary interface between Engineering Planning Production Supply Chain and Quality to coordinate and release accurate work packages.
- Manage work order cost control change management and progress reporting.
- Mentor team members set performance expectations and drive a high-performance collaborative team culture.
- Identify and resolve complex planning and execution issues related to scope schedule cost and quality.
- Facilitate structured feedback loops with production teams to embed continuous improvement and lessons learned.
Youll Need
Essential
- Effective communications skills and
- Competency in Microsoft office design software and ERP.
- Relevant trade qualification
Desirable
- Experience with use of Primavera
- Formal Planning/Scheduling training
- 5 Years experience in a Planning role in Shipbuilding complex manufacturing or construction.
- Engineering qualification Mechanical or equivalent (Cert IV)
- P6 user
