About the area

The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) (DVC Research) has responsibility for research policy development and general oversight of the Universitys research activities which encompass postgraduate education research and quality and impact research infrastructure industry liaison and intellectual property and commercialisation. The DVC (Research) has responsibility for a number of institutes research infrastructure centres and services.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) and Director Core Research Infrastructure provide strategic leadership and oversight of the management of the Universitys central research infrastructure in addition to supporting the development and implementation of UWAs research strategy in alignment with the institutional values.

The Core Research Infrastructure portfolio is focused on the curation of cross-cutting world-class research infrastructure through their expert workforce for the benefit of researchers and industry.

About the opportunity

  • Lead the scoping mapping and analysis of UWAs research infrastructure external service provision agreements including identifying gaps risks interdependencies and opportunities to improve consistency efficiency and sustainability.
  • Project manage initiatives to strengthen the governance management and lifecycle oversight of research-enabling service agreements including the development and implementation of practical solutions tools and frameworks.
  • Coordinate and manage contributions from a wide range of internal stakeholders across the Office of Research Office of Industry and Commercial Development the Governance Directorate and Finance ensuring alignment with University policy strategy and operational requirements.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Extensive experience in project management including experience in stakeholder engagement process design and the delivery of solutions in complex organisational environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with commercial and research-adjacent agreements including research infrastructure service agreements industry service arrangements or other externalfacing commercial engagements. This includes experience reviewing coordinating and administering agreements through established governance and approval processes.
  • Substantial relevant experience in process improvement including the implementation of new process models and frameworks across established teams.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with the demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines.
