The Branch Finance & Tax plays a key role in the financial governance of the Branch with full responsibility for accounting processes tax compliance and statutory obligations.
The role combines handson technical responsibilitywith endtoend ownership acting as the main financial counterpart for Finance HQ the Tax Department and local operational teams.
This position offers strong exposure to international accounting and VAT matterswithin a multinational environment as well as the opportunity to contribute actively to the continuous improvement of financial controls processes and workflows.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Accounting Management
- Ensure endtoend supervisionof general and analytical accounting activities for the Branch.
- Control and record incoming and outgoing invoices ensuring correct VAT numbers branch details and compliance with multibranch or multiVAT configurations.
- Perform bank reconciliations intercompany reconciliations and balance sheet account controls.
- Support and coordinate monthend quarterend and yearend closing activities in collaboration with HQ Administration.
- Manage and oversee documentation related to intrabranch and intraEU goods flows (shipping documents CMR proof of transport).
Tax Compliance
- Act as firstline owner of tax compliancefor the Branch ensuring accuracy timeliness and full audit readiness.
- Prepare and submit local VAT returns in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Prepare and manage Intrastat declarations in accordance with local legal requirements.
- Monitor tax deadlines and oversee the implementation of internal controls to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Support internal external and tax audits and inspections.
Operational Coordination
- Act as a key interface with IT and shared services for SAP configurations related to Branch accounting and tax processes.
- Coordinate with local operational teams to ensure an efficient and accurate information flow between operational and financial functions.
- Oversee the payment process ensuring accuracy timeliness and adherence to internal procedures.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and analyze periodic financial and tax reporting for Administration and Tax providing insights to HQ stakeholders.
- Perform variance analysis and monitor Branch KPIs.
- Identify propose and support the implementation of process improvements and internal control enhancements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Economics Accounting Business Administration or equivalent.
- 35 years of experience in accounting or tax roles ideally within multinational environments or Big Four firms.
- Solid knowledge of SAP.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint).
- Good command of written and spoken English.
