Digital Experience & Identity Manager
Augustana University invites applications for the position ofDigital Experience & Identity Manager. This full-time position plays a central role in shaping and advancing the universitys digital ecosystem by leading identity and access management (IAM) and the full user lifecycle experience for faculty staff and students.
This role serves as both a strategist and architect of the universitys digital user experience ensuring that onboarding role transitions and offboarding processes are seamless secure and aligned across institutional systems. Working in close partnership with Human Resources Academic Affairs and Admissions the Digital Experience & Identity Manager ensures that access to systems data and technology resources is timely appropriate and user-centered.
This is a 12-month full-time position with a standard schedule of 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. with occasional evening weekend and on-call responsibilities.
The duties competencies and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
Identity & Access Management
- Lead end-to-end user lifecycle management including onboarding role changes and offboarding
- Manage identity and access systems including user accounts roles and permissions
- Implement and maintain role-based access controls and security group design
- Monitor and audit access to ensure compliance and adherence to security best practices
Digital Experience & User Lifecycle
- Design and continuously improve user lifecycle processes across institutional systems
- Align identity device lifecycle and service delivery into a cohesive user experience
- Partner with campus stakeholders to streamline workflows and improve service delivery
- Support onboarding experiences that integrate systems communication and training
Technology & Device Lifecycle
- Coordinate technology provisioning for new hires and role transitions
- Oversee lifecycle management and replacement of end-user devices
- Ensure proper recovery of institutional technology during offboarding
AI Automation & Innovation
- Identify and implement AI-driven tools to improve IT service delivery
- Evaluate and deploy automation solutions across lifecycle and support processes
- Collaborate on enterprise integrations across systems such as ERP LMS IAM and CRM
User Enablement & Communication
- Develop and deliver training documentation and communication to support users
- Partner with campus groups to promote digital literacy and technology adoption
- Translate technical concepts into clear accessible information for non-technical audiences
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in identity and access management systems administration or a related IT field
- Demonstrated experience managing enterprise user accounts and access
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with lifecycle automation tools and workflow design
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and compliance practices
- Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives preferably in higher education
- Experience with enterprise systems such as Active Directory Entra ID (Azure AD) or Google Workspace
