Residential Support Worker Shift Leader
Salary:Up to 30000per annum (dependant on experience) plus an opportunity to earnan additional 2400 per annum based on 4 sleep-ins per month
Location:Newport(local transport links 5 minutes away including train station bus routes and M4 motorway)
Contract/Hours:Permanent Full-Time 37 hours per week

About the Service
Ty Ash is a nurturing therapeutic childrens home offering longterm residential care for up to four young people aged 818. Grounded in DDP and relational traumainformed practice the home provides a calm emotionally safe environment where trust connection and healing are prioritised.
The team specialises in supporting neurodiverse children and those with autism early childhood trauma attachment needs and dysregulated behaviours.
We also believe that caring for young people starts with caring for our staff. Our team is supported to reflect learn and grow with a strong culture of teamwork open communication and shared learning. We encourage staff to bring their own passions like music art sports or practical skills into the home helping young people discover new interests and abilities. With relationships at the heart of our work we celebrate meaningful progress and create a culture where both young people and staff can thrive.
A bit about the role
Were looking for a confident and compassionate Residential Support Worker with shiftleading experience to help create a safe and nurturing and emotionally home for our young people.
As a key member of the team youll take the lead during shifts support colleagues in delivering highquality traumainformed care and help maintain a calm structured environment where children feel valued and understood.
This role is ideal for an experienced practitioner who loves working directly with young people enjoys guiding others and is ready to take on more responsibility within a supportive and relational team.

- Promote a positive team culture encouraging reflection open communication and shared responsibility across the home.
Letstalk about you
- Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or actively working towards it
- Confidence leading shifts and supporting colleagues in childrens residential care
- An understanding of traumainformed relational practice.
- Knowledge and understanding of neurodiversity including how to adapt support to individual needs.
- Knowledge of DDPinformed approaches and the ability to apply therapeutic relationshipbased practice.
