Assistant Resident Engineer

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate and communicate with various project stakeholders to ensure project success
• Composure and diplomatic problem solving
• Analyze applicable codes standards and specifications for compliance
• Perform general field inspection of Road and Bridge Construction
• Measure calculate and report installed quantities
• Oversee materials sampling and testing schedules
• Monitor and analyze progress of contractors work
• Maintain various reports
• Monitor and lead inspection team

BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE EXPECTATIONS:

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or similar Engineering Field
• 4 years experience working with Chicago DOT IDOT Illinois Tollway or comparable transportation agencies
• Certifications including IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities
• Transportation design experience is a plus
• Experience on transit and/or utility projects is a plus
• Coachable and a sense of humor
• Comfortable taking initiative and exercising professional judgement

Salary Range: $90000 - $140000. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant.
