Job Summary

Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurses to join our Emergency Department on a permanent full-time or part-time basis (minimum 0.5 FTE).

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic fast-paced clinical environment where you will deliver exceptional patient care work alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families.

Based at our Springfield campus this role will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield opening early 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU maternity emergency and medical surgical services its set to care for over 200000 patients annually.

Salary range: $41.74 - $53.53 per hourplus superannuationandaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15900access to many staff benefits!

What youll be doing

As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department you will provide high-quality patient-centred care in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. You will:

  • Deliver safe evidence-based nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute and urgent conditions
  • Assess plan implement and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal clinical outcomes
  • Advocate for patients ensuring their physical emotional and spiritual needs are met
  • Collaborate closely with medical nursing and allied health teams to coordinate care
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold confidentiality at all times
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives patient safety and risk management activities
  • Support the education and mentoring of students graduates and less experienced staff
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain contemporary clinical knowledge

About you

You are a caring and adaptable Registered Nurse who thrives in a collaborative high-performing team environment. You will demonstrate:

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in an acute care setting ideally within an Emergency Department
  • Strong clinical assessment critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to delivering safe high-quality care and continuous improvement
  • Passion for professional development learning and mentoring others
  • Flexibility to work across a 24/7 rotating roster
