Job Summary
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is seeking an Open Rank to serve the clinical and educational missions of the Division of Neonatology.The division is based at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) in Tampa FL.TGH is a 1018-bed teaching hospital affiliated with the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine.It is a private not-for-profit hospital and one of the most comprehensive medical facilities in west central Florida serving a dozen counties with a population of over 4 addition to being a Level 1 trauma center it also has a Level 3 NICU.The 82-bed Jennifer Leigh Muma NICU is a designated Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center designated by the State of Florida to deliver the highest level of medical care to premature and sick infants and to women with high-risk pregnancies. USF/TGH Neonatology also participates inthe Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative a statewide initiative to improve maternal and infant health outcomes in Florida. We are seeking a dedicated physician preferably with expertise in neonatal neurocritical care to join our team. This position may include serving as Medical Director for Neonatal Neurocritical Care with opportunities to lead program development quality initiatives and strategic growth.
Responsibilities
CLINICAL- The position includes the management of patients in the Jennifer Leigh Muma Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Tampa General Hospital.
- TEACHING- The facultymemberwillcontribute todepartmental teaching programs forneonatal fellowspediatric residentsand inthe preparation and organization ofneweducational programs aswellasuniversityand departmental committees.
RESEARCH- The faculty member will be encouraged to participate in ongoing research in the Division of Neonatology and contribute to divisional efforts to seek funding for extramural research.
- ADMINISTRATIVE- Potential to serve as Medical Director of Neonatal Neurocritical Care Program at Tampa General Hospital. Lead the strategic planning implementation and management of a neurocritical care program within the NICU.
- ResponsibletoaChairorotherappropriatehigher-leveladministratorofaStateuniversity. Responsible for teaching research service and related administrative activities.
Responsible for academic advising and related activities. Mayrepresenttheuniversitycollege/schoolordepartment.
Qualifications
Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching academic research and service.
Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Associate or Full Professor.
ForAssociate/FullProfessor-Normallywillhave produced creative work professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.
Must hold or be eligible for a full unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent perform this position the candidate will need to obtain and maintainafullunrestrictedFLMedicalLicensemaintaincredentialsintheUSFHealth faculty practice plan and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals he/she is assigned to perform clinical duties. The candidate will participate in the teaching of residents fellows and medical students in clinical medicine.
Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
Certification/Experience in neonatal neurocritical carepreferred.
