9:00 AM 5:00 PM
40 hours per week
Compensation: $26 $39 per hour (based on experience)
Position Overview
A well-established healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant with a strong background in oral surgery. This role involves providing chairside assistance during surgical and general dental procedures while ensuring patient comfort and maintaining high standards of clinical efficiency and infection control.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and oral surgical procedures
Prepare treatment rooms instruments and dental materials
Seat and position patients; adjust chairs and equipment as needed
Provide chairside assistance including instrument handling and retraction
Operate suction equipment to maintain a clear operative field
Assist with tooth extractions and other oral surgical interventions
Mix dental materials such as amalgam and fillings as directed
Sterilize instruments linens and maintain infection control standards
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Assist with dental X-rays if required
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program (required)
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant (required)
Prior experience assisting with oral surgery (required)
Certifications
BLS (Basic Life Support) American Heart Association (AHA) required
Skills & Physical Requirements
Strong chairside assisting and surgical support skills
Knowledge of sterilization and infection control procedures
Ability to mix dental materials accurately
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to perform moderate physical activity (standing bending lifting typing)
Strong attention to detail and patient safety
