- Serve as Principal Data Architect for a major rail transportation client in Washington DC.
- Lead the strategic design and modernization of the Labor Management Operations ecosystem.
- Bridge legacy mainframe systems with modern near-real-time streaming architectures.
- Define and oversee the overall information architecture ensuring data integrity and alignment with enterprise standards.
- Develop and maintain conceptual logical and physical data models as well as standardized event schemas and robust API contracts.
- Analyze and migrate legacy data systems to modern platforms including building high-performance real-time data pipelines and implementing Change Data Capture (CDC).
- Optimize system performance through advanced database programming and query tuning.
- Establish governance policies and contribute to enterprise standards for database management security and data utilization.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineering teams on best practices in information architecture and design.
- Conduct research on new information technologies to inform technology direction and improvements.
- Collaborate and communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Leverage over 15 years of experience in Data Management ideally within the Labor and Transportation or Rail industry.
- Demonstrate expertise in Information Architecture Data Modeling Relational and NoSQL databases and distributed systems.
- Possess proficiency in modern streaming technologies (e.g. Kafka Kafka Schema Registry).
- Hold a Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field (Masters preferred).
