Role: Project Engineer / Quality Control Inspector
Location: Hobe Sound FL (Travel Required)
Travel: 75% Nationwide
Employment Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a Project Engineer / Quality Control Inspector to support heavy civil and infrastructure construction projects across multiple locations.
This is a field-driven role that combines quality control project coordination and engineering support ensuring projects are executed safely on time and in compliance with specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Support planning coordination and execution of civil construction projects
- Develop and implement quality control and assurance plans
- Perform site inspections to ensure compliance with drawings specifications and contract requirements
- Monitor construction activities and document quality progress and deficiencies
- Coordinate with Project Managers Superintendents and field teams on project execution
- Assist in resolving quality issues and implementing corrective actions
- Participate in safety inspections meetings and incident reviews
- Maintain accurate documentation reports and project records
- Support communication between field teams and leadership
- Assist in organizing project meetings and tracking project progress
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management or related field
- Experience in construction quality control or project engineering (heavy civil preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents
- Strong communication coordination and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Willingness to travel 75% and work in active construction environments
- Experience in heavy civil infrastructure roadway or utility projects
- Exposure to quality control or field inspection processes
- OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain)
- First Aid / CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Familiarity with construction management or reporting tools
- Field-based role with significant travel across project sites
- Work involves active construction environments and outdoor conditions
- Requires flexibility adaptability and ability to work independently and within teams
