Job Summary
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor Risk Specialists to support professional growth and performance.
- Conduct 1x1s annual performance reviews and ongoing development conversations.
- Interview onboard and train new Commercial Lines team members.
- Ensure agency expectations policies and industry regulations are consistently followed.
- Assist with developing and implementing processes and procedures that improve department efficiency.
- Lead and organize department meetings.
- Drive strategic initiatives designed to support growth within the Commercial Lines department.
- Audit files for best practices and provide coaching where needed to maintain compliance.
- Maintain a book of key commercial accounts.
- Identify opportunities to maximize growth within the existing client base.
- Develop strategies that strengthen client retention and long-term relationships.
- Maintain and develop carrier partnerships including onboarding new carrier appointments.
- Monitor industry trends and competitive developments and share insights with the team.
- Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accounts receivable remain current.
- Maintain departmental policies procedures and growth initiatives.
- Oversee schedules PTO approvals and continuing education for the Commercial Lines team.
- Active Property & Casualty Insurance License required.
- College degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Advanced knowledge of the commercial insurance industry with at least 7 years experience.
- Strong leadership mentoring and team development abilities. Prior management experience preferred.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and client service skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and proactive mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with AMS360 preferred.
- Ability to work with confidential information with discretion.
- Valid drivers license with reliable transportation.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Ability to complete required agency training.
