Overview:
A public sector organization is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer Intern to support communications outreach and multimedia initiatives. This role involves producing ADA-compliant materials supporting internal and external communications and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality visual content.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and produce a monthly employee newsletter using Adobe InDesign ensuring ADA compliance and coordinating content with various internal teams
Create outreach event flyers using existing templates and export them as ADA-compliant PDFs for official record submission
Develop a wide range of visual materials including invitations posters event programs presentations fact sheets guides brochures forms and other informational content
Provide in-house support for video recording and editing using Adobe Premiere Pro
Submit monthly reports and outreach materials to designated government publication portals for recordkeeping
Coordinate with translation vendors to produce multilingual materials as needed
Manage requisitions for promotional items and collaborate with vendors by providing artwork and design specifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Option 1: Bachelors degree in Fine Arts Graphic Design or related field from an accredited institution plus at least one year of professional graphic design experience OR
Option 2: High school diploma (or equivalent) plus two years of technical training in art/design from an approved institution and three years of professional graphic design experience
Preferred Skills:
Strong portfolio demonstrating visual communication typography and creative design expertise
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud especially Adobe InDesign Photoshop and Illustrator
Experience creating ADA-compliant PDFs and documents (Word Excel preferred)
Familiarity with motion graphics tools such as Adobe After Effects is a plus
Basic knowledge of HTML is preferred
Excellent organizational communication and time management skills
Ability to work independently meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
