Caterpillars Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine Petroleum Industrial Applications Electric Generators and Locomotives. Caterpillar inSan Antonio Texas is seeking a dynamicQualityInspector Ito join our team! As a key member of our team you will play a vital role in exceeding production standards by providing comprehensive support for quality issues on the production line. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with quality managers and various departments to meet both customerand company needs while focusing on elevating product quality velocity and cost-effectiveness through skilled data analysis and effective problem-solving. Additional Information:

• Hourly Compensation Range: $20.00 - $25.25
• 2ndShift will receive a7%shift premium
• Schedule: Monday- Friday 2:30pm-11:00pm. Start and end times may vary depending on production needs.
• Overtime asrequired.

Whatyou willdo:

• Performplanand/ormethodaudits of the production processes to ensurecritical to customeractions arecorrect
• Lead Caterpillar Production System continuous improvement activities
• Provide support for quality issues on the production line
• Escalate and address issues developing effective countermeasures
• Execute containments and communicate results
• Create quality alerts following established guidelines
• Conduct special studies directed byProductionManagers to understand line performance
• Monitor and react to quality performance indicators on the production line
• Ensure adherence to standard work within the team
• Identifyand solve problems using Caterpillar Production Systems methods
• Maintain safe and clean workstations including equipment
• Communicate with the team about missed inspection items or customer concerns
• Maintain or exceed production standards set by the company
• Foster a fair and consistent work environment promoting mutual respect
• Deliver daily work assignments as directed byProductionManagersandassistwith special projects
• Communicate effectively within the team and across departments
• Support out-of-process containment activities and reactive quality measures
• Adhere to standard operating procedures and area-specific instructions
• Provide process information to supervisors and managers
• Occasionallyparticipatein training and development
• Perform any other assigned duties

What you will have:

• Minimum of6months experience in a machining manufacturing or warehouseenvironmentor industry certification
• Abilitytocollaborate with different teams and departments
• Ability to read write and interpret documents in English
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Generalknowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel Word and/orPowerPoint
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of products and assembly tools
• Previousexperience with Standard Operating Procedures or Standard Work
• Ability to adhere to safety procedures

What would make you a top candidate:

• Previousexperience reading and interpreting part prints and/or schematics
• Intermediate experience navigating PLEX
• Proficiencyin Built-In Quality (BIQ) Processes
• Proficient in gauging techniques ( height micrometer and paint thickness)
• Hands on experience assemblingor repairingengines engine components and/or generators
• Knowledge of post-fabrication processes
• Lean manufacturing experience and/or Six-Sigma Certification

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to perform repetitive operations
• Ability tolift upto 35 lbs.
