Senior Signalling System Design Manager (Ref 260000CE)

Responsibilities

• Lead a dedicated team of engineering professionals responsible for the design of Zone Controller (ZC) signalling interlocking relay interlocking trackside signalling equipment interfaces of the new Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) signalling system of urban lines.
• Responsible for testing and commissioning as well as technical support to operation and maintenance teams throughout the project cycle of the ZC and its defect liability period
• Supervise the signalling supplier as a technical leader in ZC hardware software and database design factory and site testing according to EN50128 and EN50129 standards
• Ensure timely review and approval of design manufacturing and testing activities in accordance with statutory and Corporations safety and quality standards
• Lead the design and testing teams in carrying out the associated works by preparing project definition documents developing specifications work drawings testing and commissioning plans and procedures engineering documents supporting system assurance process and coordinating with various stakeholders to integrate the technical requirements into the CBTC signalling system
• Integrate and define the project requirements to meet operational needs in accordance with the approved budget and programme

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
• A minimum of 12 years experience in relay interlocking and/or signalling interlocking design testing and/or project implementation of which 4 years should be at managerial level
• Possession of Corporate Membership of the Hong Kong Institute of Engineers or a recognised professional institution is preferred
• Sound knowledge of MTR legacy signalling system and trackside signalling equipment in urban lines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as project management and leadership capabilities

• Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)

• Candidate with less experience will be considered for a lower grade position
