Job Summary
Overview
RSSB is seeking a Senior Commercial Marketing Manager (Known internally as Marketing Business Partner) to play a key strategic role within our Marketing team. This is a pivotal role with clear ownership for shaping and driving commercially focused marketing strategies that directly influence business performance.
In this role you will define and lead integrated marketing approaches that translate business objectives into compelling propositions campaigns and measurable outcomes. Acting as a trusted senior marketing leader you will set direction for the commercial business area challenge thinking and guiding stakeholders through change ensuring marketing investment is focused where it delivers the greatest value.
You will also play a central role in RSSBs digital transformation driving digital marketing capabilities to deliver customercentric engagement clear commercial impact and effective routes to market for our products and services.
This role is based at our Fenchurch Avenue offices on a hybrid basis. The closing date for applications is 17th May 2026.
Responsibilities
- Act as a senior marketing partner to business leaders and internal stakeholders shaping marketing direction by translating organisational and commercial priorities into clear insight-led marketing strategies that drive measurable growth.
- Own the end-to-end marketing strategy and delivery for your business areas defining target audiences value propositions success metrics (KPIs) budgets messaging architecture timelines and multi-channel plans for each campaign.
- Lead strategic campaign planning and execution ensuring propositions are brought to market with clarity focus and commercial impact and that activity is aligned to broader business and brand objectives.
- Manage agency partnerships for relevant initiatives providing high-quality briefs overseeing budget management and ensuring output consistently meets strategic creative and performance expectations.
- Champion the effective use of digital marketing capabilities continually evolving marketing approaches to leverage improvements in CRM data analytics and website functionality to improve targeting personalisation and conversion.
- Define track and interpret performance metrics across the marketing funnel including customer acquisition cost (CAC) lifetime value (LTV) and CAC:LTV ratio translating data into actionable insight and clearly communicating performance and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Manage marketing budgets developing annual budget proposals and identifying opportunities for new or alternative investment to maximise return and exploit emerging market opportunities.
- Influence the development of digital product and website functionality identifying and driving marketing requirements flagging capability gaps and escalating risks or issues to ensure intended outcomes are realised.
- Champion integrated planning and delivery across Brand Experience Events and Content teams ensuring campaigns and communications deliver a consistent and compelling customer experience.
- Deliver against agreed lead generation and retention targets taking clear accountability for marketing contribution to commercial performance across priority offerings.
- Commission and apply market research and customer insight strengthening strategic decision-making and supporting both commercial and non-commercial objectives.
- Identify and develop opportunities for externally produced member and client content expanding the reach and credibility of marketing communications while ensuring usage meets editorial standards and governance through close liaison with content experts.
Qualifications
- Hold or be working towards a professional marketing or communications qualification or membership of an appropriate professional body and show commitment to keeping up to date with marketing innovations and the need for continuous development.
- Experience in building effective professional relationships with stakeholders understanding their unique goals and motivations gaining credibility and effectively influencing to achieve agreement on desired outcomes.
- Experienced in defining managing and analysing key marketing elements including audience segmentation KPIs budgets messaging timelines and channel strategy to drive strategic insights and informed decision-making.
- Proficient in developing tracking and leveraging key performance metrics such as customer acquisition cost (CAC) net lifetime value (LTV) and the CAC:LTV ratioto evaluate and optimise the effectiveness of digital marketing channels.
- Experience in developing cross-functional marketing tools such as schedules status trackers and performance dashboards
- Consistent execution of email campaigns promotions social content and reporting objectives about each of these each period.
- Able to make full use of Marketings digital marketing capability adapting the marketing approach to exploit improvements in CRM analytics and our website as they become available.
- Able to plan articulate and implement effective use of channels in strategies and campaigns adapting activities as necessary in response to performance metrics and analytics reports.
- Experience in integrating emerging digital technologies and data-driven insights into marketing strategies and campaigns while proactively addressing potential risks related to technology customer experience and organisational impact.
- Communicate effectively and share thoughts and ideas through methods appropriate to the audience and the issues being discussed.
- Actively contribute as part of a team and work towards achieving team goals and outcomes.
