Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Primary Care Location: Juneau AK Shift: Monday Friday 08:00 AM 05:00 PM EMR: Meditech
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a highly motivated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our primary care ambulatory team in Juneau AK. This role is key to maintaining efficient clinic operations and ensuring high-quality patient care for all age groupsfrom pediatrics to geriatrics. The CMA will work closely with providers and lead Clinical Assistant I & II staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Room patients collect vitals document medical histories accurately in Meditech EMR.
Clinical Duties: Perform lab draws Point of Care Testing (POCT) immunizations and other injections within scope of practice.
Procedures: Prepare equipment for routine exams and assist providers with minor office surgeries or radiology exams.
Leadership: Mentor and guide Clinical Assistant I & II staff for smooth department workflow.
Safety: Recognize signs requiring urgent intervention and maintain a safe environment for patients.
Required Qualifications:
Certification: CMA or RMA (National Medical Assistant Certification). Nursing degree accepted as substitute.
Experience: Minimum 1 year in a healthcare setting.
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Life Support: Current BLS certification.
Skills: Proficiency in EMR systems (Meditech preferred) EKG manual defibrillators and vital sign equipment.
Critical Contract Information:
Fingerprint clearance required; start dates 5 weeks after receipt.
No RTO (Requested Time Off) approved during contract.
Must be able to safely handle bloodborne exposure and lift/push up to 25 lbs or assist patients.
