Schedule & Shift

• Day Shift 5x8 Hours (40 hours/week)
• Rotating Shifts: 7:15 AM 3:45 PM 9:30 AM 6:00 PM
• Monday Friday
• Rotating weekends required
• Weekday call and holiday call required

Position Overview

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support surgical services within a fast-paced acute care operating room environment. This role is responsible for assisting surgeons and nursing staff during a variety of surgical procedures while maintaining a sterile field and ensuring optimal patient safety and care standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up the operating room with surgical instruments sterile drapes and necessary supplies
• Maintain sterile technique in accordance with hospital policies and AORN standards
• Perform scrub duties across multiple surgical specialties
• Pass instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons during procedures
• Assist with retractors suturing materials and surgical counts (sponges needles instruments)
• Ensure proper functioning of surgical equipment and instrumentation
• Prepare handle and transport surgical specimens for laboratory analysis
• Assist with patient positioning transport and intraoperative support
• Support application of surgical dressings and postoperative activities
• Operate sterilization equipment and follow sterilization protocols
• Prepare and label medications under supervision of the RN and surgeon
• Assist in patient transfer to recovery areas
• Support OR turnover cleaning and restocking between procedures
• Maintain patient safety privacy and dignity at all times
• Participate in team meetings training sessions and collaborative initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (civilian or military)
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through NBSTSA (active and in good standing)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and infection control practices
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)

Preferred Qualifications

• Orthopedic (Ortho) surgical experience
• Experience in a multi-specialty operating room environment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills

Certifications Required

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) NBSTSA
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
