IT Support Technician Co-op Opportunity
Job Summary
The IT Support Technician Student provides first-level technical support for staff faculty and students. They perform basic troubleshooting analysis and resolution across hardware software and network environments. The role requires strong technical aptitude excellent communication and the ability to collaborate with other teams. The IT Support Technician Student assists with incident resolution root cause identification and works alongside more senior technicians to support delivery of technical initiatives.
How youll contribute
Advanced Technical Support
- Responds to technical incidents escalated to the Service Desk providing remote on-site and face-to-face support.
- Communicates technical solutions in accessible terms to non-technical clients.
Incident and Asset Management
- Performs the setup configuration and recovery of endpoint devices and peripherals.
- Follows established processes for deployment replacement and lifecycle tracking of assigned hardware.
Professional Development and Change Awareness
- Builds knowledge in emerging technologies institutional tools and IT processes.
- Demonstrates initiative accountability and alignment with SAIT First Principles.
What you bring
- Must be a current SAIT student enrolled in and returning to a program in Computing Technology Information Systems or an IT related field
- Experience in IT support endpoint management or technical operations within an enterprise or higher-education environment is considered an asset.
- Experience in ITSM systems and ticket lifecycle management (e.g. ServiceNow Jira Remedy) is considered an asset.
