The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). This role is essential in ensuring patient safety assisting with daily living activities and supporting the healthcare team in delivering high-quality care to residents in a long-term care setting.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver direct patient care including bathing toileting oral hygiene incontinent care and bed making
Measure record and promptly report vital signs to the nursing team
Perform and document glucose monitoring (finger sticks) and assist with specimen collection (urine stool sputum)
Monitor and document intake/output and daily weights
Respond to call lights and report any changes in patient condition immediately
Assist as a patient sitter when required for safety monitoring
Maintain a clean organized and safe patient environment
Support patient mobility positioning and comfort measures
Communicate effectively with patients families and healthcare team members
Follow infection control protocols and safety standards at all times
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Completion of an accredited CNA program
Active New Jersey CNA License
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)
Minimum 23 years of experience in Sub-Acute and/or Long-Term Care settings (required)
Strong communication skills in English (read write and speak)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Sub-Acute Rehabilitation (SAR) and Long-Term Care environments
Strong teamwork skills with a patient-centered approach
