Job Description

The Associate Director - Fund Accounting will lead a team responsible for delivering comprehensive fund accounting services to a diverse portfolio of alternative investment funds ensuring accuracy timeliness and adherence to regulatory requirements. This role involves significant client interaction operational oversight and strategic team leadership.

Job Responsibilities

* Lead and manage a team of fund accountants including performance management training and development.
* Oversee the preparation and review of NAV calculations financial statements and investor reporting for various fund structures (e.g. private equity real estate hedge funds).
* Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g. IFRS Lux GAAP US GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
* Act as a primary point of contact for clients addressing inquiries providing reporting insights and managing service delivery expectations.
* Review and approve complex accounting entries reconciliations and financial reports.
* Develop and implement operational efficiencies and process improvements within the fund accounting department.
* Collaborate with internal departments (e.g. legal compliance operations) to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Participate in client onboarding and new fund launches ensuring smooth integration of accounting processes.
* Stay abreast of industry trends regulatory changes and new accounting pronouncements.
* Assist in the preparation and review of audit schedules and liaise with external auditors.

Job Qualifications

* Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field. Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA ACA CPA) is highly desirable.
* Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in fund accounting with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role within the alternative investments industry.
* In-depth knowledge of various fund structures (private equity real estate hedge funds) and their associated accounting treatments.
* Strong understanding of relevant accounting standards (IFRS Lux GAAP US GAAP) and regulatory frameworks.
* Proven experience in managing and developing a team of professionals.
* Excellent client management and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
* Proficiency in fund accounting software (e.g. Geneva) and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
* Strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French or German is a significant advantage.
