Job Summary
Summary:The City of Lawrence is currently seeking a skilled and dependable Master Mechanic tojoin our team. This is an advanced-level position responsible for performing preventive maintenance and complex repairs on a wide variety of vehicles rolling stock and non-rolling equipment in the :Diagnose and repair gasoline diesel and other types of alternative fuel-powered equipmentTroubleshoot and service hydraulic and electrical systemsMaintain accurate records of repairs maintenance activities and parts usedProvide technical support and guidance to entry level mechanics and garage personnelEnsure all work is performed in accordance with safety standards and departmental proceduresThis role requires a high level of expertise and a thorough understanding of all procedures and protocols within the assigned Mechanic I Minimum RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED equivalent plus additional specialized training in automotive and/or mechanical of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in automotive or mechanical and skills related to the repair of fire apparatus and emergency medical units is strongly Requirements:Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL); Class B is required Class A is preferred.
