The Coating Technician role is responsible for the identification and execution of projects related to the coating of gas turbine components and also the support of infrastructure business technology and productivity initiatives. This person will work directly with a process engineer in the AMRT and also with the various new make and services teams to drive development and industrialization of lean coating programs for new make fulfilment contractual services productivity as well as transactional services growth.The focus of this role is to develop drive and industrialize coating technology for Gas Turbine Technology with a continual focus on lean principles.
This role has the ability to affect short-term and long-term business goals.
Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Work with a process engineer to support daily development and continuous improvement of thermal spray processes related to fulfillment cost out and New Product Introduction (NPI) for Gas Turbine Technology
- Provide technical guidance and support for all thermal spray activities taking place in the AMRT team.
- Maintain thermal spray equipment and material availability.
- Provide guidance related to improved maintenance activities related to new processes.
- Work with the team technical leader to organize all calibrations and certifications for the AMRT thermal spray cells
- Work with a process engineer to make sure all developed processes meet required specifications considering the quality and productivity aspects of this technology
- Support and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as manufacturing sourcing services global engineering MPE design and systems engineering.
- Provide strong technical guidance and contribution to lean process development and lean manufacturing execution. Participate in quarterly AMRT Kaizen improvement activities.
- Provide training support for operators in the manufacturing centers as it pertains to new process training
- Communicate progress to all levels of the organization.
Qualifications/Requirements
- HS diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in coating technology thermal spray protective coating or associated technology.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position the pay range for this position is a minimum $1245.34 to the maximum of $2492.67 per week. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.
