About the role:
The Strategy group is focused on moving the discipline forward into a new era of insights and business solutions. Youll find all of the usual Strategy responsibilities like inspiring and applying audience market and product insights to our clients objectives creating robust communication strategies and tactics and working with our internal teams to devise the best integrated strategies for clients.
On top of all of that we push for more.
We puzzle over new data sets new signals from social platforms new ways to create and apply frameworks new testing structures and new innovations for our clients. Its all new unknown and just waiting for us to figure it out.
This role will be a dedicated role for one of WPP medias top global clients: Google. It will primarily be a portfolio role working across all Google brands on portfolio projects.
Reporting of the role:
This role reports to the Sr. Strategy Director (Google)

Measures of success:
In three months:
- You would be expected to have full understanding of our client business association & your role
- Understand the different stakeholders within the agency and start building a relationship with them
- Ability to lead strategic discussions with clients
- Explore and master WPP Open (WPPs AI operating system) and all the tools therein
In six months:
- Proactively drive the strategic initiatives & response to the client requirements & briefs
- Have a full understanding of what is happening on the clients business & work accordingly
- Ability to start leading long term & short-term strategic planning for the client
In twelve months:
- Be visible as key POC of your team within the agency as well as with clients
- Be the seamless bridge between local clients & regional/global agency team for strategic planning initiatives
- Drive annual half-yearly and quarterly planning ensuring above benchmark scores for strategy on client feedback
Responsibilities of the role
Primary: Cross-brand portfolio projects: Play a key role in creating roadmaps and points of views that help make decisions across the Google portfolio i.e which of the portfolio brands should lead/support for sponsorships/ platforms/innovations etc
Business & Category Monitoring:Create processes and frameworks for tracking audience media & platforms & competition trends transforming knowledge into actionable insights
Secondary:
Custodian of best practices:Work closely with measurement/ analytics planning and partnership teams to become the custodian of best practices across channels/touchpoints and tactics
Strategic Planning:Make & present key campaign strategies in partnership with planning teams. Ownership of audience touchpoint selection media tasks and go-to-market approach. Contribute to annual half yearly and quarterly strategy presentations
Skills and Experience
- Strong ability to dissect complexbrandmarket competitive and internal datatobuild brand strategy and achieve brand goals
- Expertise in tools likeTGI GWIandAOP&scenario planning
- Experience in Media & platforms
- Strong communication & presentation skills
- Presenting a compelling strategic narrative to diverse audiences: senior leadershipclientteams and external partners.
- Persuasion and negotiation to gain stakeholder buy-in
- Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking
- Comfortable making & presenting annual quarterly strategy presentations for the different client business units in a global work environment
- With an experience of various responsibilities within the marketing/media ecosystem should know digital marketing (thorough Hands-on experience at some point in career) as well as offline marketing
- Go-getter attitude data analytics communication skills good logical reasoning attention to detail integrity empathy aptitude & dare for innovation
- Someone with an experience with premium FMCG / technology / e-com / consulting / data analytics companies will be an added advantage
- An attitude of curiosity and collaboration is a must
