About the Position

Chevron ENGINE has an exciting opportunity for a Rotating Equipment Engineer to join the Discipline Engineering team. Reporting to the Discipline Engineering Manager this role will be based in Chevrons office in Bengaluru.

Chevron ENGINE supports global operations and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for rotating equipment (compressors pumps turbines gearboxes motors etc).

  • Support machinery selection and sizing in collaboration with process and operations teams.

  • Review and approve machinery designs performance curves data sheets dynamic simulations lateral and torsional vibration reports and mechanical integrity documentation.

  • Coordinate vendor package design to ensure compliance with project specifications codes standards (e.g. API ASMEISO and project specific specifications) and interface requirements.

  • Support resolution of technical queries deviations and non conformances related to package equipment.

  • Manage vendor data review 3D model review on vendor packages including drawings calculations procedures and manuals.

  • Support machinery reliability availability and maintainability objectives throughout design and execution.

  • Supports project concept development scoping supplier selection writing specifications performing bid analysis facilitating testing assisting with field startup performing troubleshooting using and implementing digital solutions and leading failure analysis.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized (AICTE) university.

  • Extensive experience in rotating equipment operation maintenance system optimization and machinery condition monitoring analysis.

  • Prior involvement across multiple project phases including FEED detailed design fabrication installation commissioning and startup.

  • Experience working with EPC contractors fabrication yards and construction teams.

  • Advanced experience with rotating machinery including compressors pumps gas turbines generators gearboxes motors etc.

  • Familiarity with machinery performance analysis vibration lateral and torsional analysis and machinery protection systems.

  • Experience supporting machinery reliability availability and maintainability (RAM) objectives.

  • Exposure to machinery commissioning startup troubleshooting and operational support.

  • Strong background in vendor data review technical bid evaluations and supplier interface management.

  • Experience managing technical deviations concessions and non conformances with vendors and EPCs.

  • Familiarity with long lead equipment (LLE) procurement strategies.

  • Strong working knowledge of API ASME ISO requirements.

  • Experience interpreting and applying project specific specifications and operator standards.

  • Understanding of process safety hazardous area classification and machinery safeguarding.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in pressure vessel piping or mechanical design within the oil & gas or petrochemical industry.

  • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering (Masters or Doctorate).

  • Vibration Analyst Certification Level I or II.

  • Experience with Rotodynamic analysis software.

  • Oil & gas or petrochemical experience or experience working with a machinery fabricator
