The Supervisor of Market Policy Coordination will lead a team of analysts who facilitate initiatives for SPP markets. A wide range of skills will be required including: an understanding of and compliance with Market governing documents report writing and documentation coordination of cross-departmental efforts a high-level understanding of market initiatives and analysis and communication with customers. The Supervisor will support the SPP stakeholder process including acting as a staff secretary for working groups as requested. The Supervisor will also act as an SPP expert and spokesperson in the Integrated Marketplace stakeholder process. The Supervisor of Market Policy Coordination will be responsible for managing individual performance of the Market Policy Coordination team through real-time coaching and periodic performance reviews
Key Responsibilities:
Hire develop and maintain the Markets Policy Coordination staff
Facilitate and engage in the SPP stakeholder processes
Provide oversight and support of cross-functional markets processes such as governing document management reviews of project priorities and budget management
Provide leadership counsel training and support to all Markets staff involved in the stakeholder processes including RR development
Oversee the scoping scheduling coordination impact assessments and execution of the Markets Strategic Initiative Requests (SIRs)and other special projects including analysis of the impacts to the market and market operations
Serve as liaison between external and internal parties by anticipating identifying addressing resolving and communicating policy strategic technical and administrative issues
Represent SPP as a staff expert in stakeholder process and other forums
Understand and comply with SPP Policies and Procedures
To be successful in the role were looking for:
Bachelors degree
Six (6) years of job-related experience obtained in a responsible role related to or directly applicable to energy markets OR eight (8) years of relevant experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be considered toward relevant years of experience.
Ability to work with a broad spectrum of individuals with diverse interests when resolving problems
Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships at all organizational levels with internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work closely with leadership in a dynamic and fast-paced environment requiring the individual to simultaneously manage several tasks while paying attention to detail and quality
Strong interpersonal and team building skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent facilitation skills for internal and external team/group meetings
Strong organizational skills
Demonstrate proficiency in business acumen and professional conduct
Demonstrate the ability to function with constantly changing and multiple priorities
Preferred:
Advanced knowledge of the SPP market design and software
Supervisory experience
Advanced degree or professional certification in related field of study
Experience with stakeholder organizations board/committee structures issue coordination process design project management and implementation metrics development and tracking
Experience with SPP Tariffs Protocols and relevant FERC regulatory orders
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of the workweek are Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 extended hours may be required.
Travel Requirement:
This position requires moderate travel (approximately 15-20%)
