Job Title: Surgical Technologist (OR General Surgery)
Location: Falmouth MA 02540 Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Rotating Days (7:15 AM 3:45 PM / 9:30 AM 6:00 PM)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to support surgical services in a fast-paced operating room environment. This role works under the direct supervision of the Surgeon and Registered Nurse to ensure safe efficient and high-quality patient care throughout surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain the operating room ensuring all instruments equipment and sterile supplies are ready for procedures
Maintain strict adherence to infection control and sterility standards (AORN guidelines)
Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies
Handle surgical instruments retractors sutures and assist with sponge/needle counts
Prepare label and manage medications under RN and surgeon supervision
Ensure proper handling labeling and transport of surgical specimens
Assist with patient positioning transport and post-procedure transfers
Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment including lights suction and sterilizers
Support room turnover and restocking between procedures
Collaborate with surgical team to ensure availability of case-specific equipment and instruments
Participate in staff meetings training and continuous education
Maintain patient privacy dignity and safety at all times
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (Civilian or Military)
NBSTSA Certification (Required) must be active and maintained
BLS Certification (Required)
Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical procedures
Orthopedic experience strongly preferred
Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English
Strong teamwork and communication skills
