Meeting Street is currently looking for a Registered Nurse (float) for 40 hours per week.

Duties:

• Provides nursing coverage for RI and MA school programs as scheduled by Head Nurse
• Maintains the health and well-being of the students during school hours for all daily issues as well as responding to all emergency situations
• Keeps up to date records for all students and assists with scheduling all mandatory health screens
• Planning and implementing all necessary nursing procedures and developing others if they are needed
• Administers medications and performs nursing procedures ordered by the physician to be given during school hours including but not limited to G-Tube feedings catheterizations respiratory treatments dialysis dressing changes wound care trach care and suctioning etc.
• Performs ongoing health status evaluations and medication/treatment reviews to identify health needs and potential problems
• Documents all nursing care and changes in a students health status
• Communicates timely updates to parents teachers and therapy staff regarding health concerns or changes in the health status of the student
• Assists the Head Nurse in conducting nursing assessments and developing nursing care plans which reflect the students needs and the unique nature of his/her condition(s)

• Licensed RN in Rhode Island and Massachusetts or the ability to obtain
• Maintains current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification.
• Must have valid drivers license
• Adapts to any medical/technical equipment that is needed to provide health services to our students.
• Provides care to students in their classrooms special activities and on field trips.
• Collaborates with the other disciplines involved in a students care to optimize the student school experience.
• Be able to sit stand and walk continuously during the workday. Sit stand bend/stoop squat kneel grip with whole hand- right left & both hands finger pinch items-right left and both hands use hand power tools use a computer transfer patient climb stairs reach above shoulder level-both right left & both arms assist in lifting and carrying students as well as transfers from wheelchairs to equipment.
• Generally be able to lift/push/pull up to 35 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with the assistance of adaptive equipment or another staff member.
