About the Opportunity

The Business Decarbonisation Program is seeking to appoint a Project Officer for a parental leave backfill.

This role offers a rare opportunity to be involved in both the design and delivery of grant offers focusing on the Net zero planning grant. Youll work directly with our fantastic grantees developing greenhouse gas inventories setting net zero targets and creating actionable plans - making a real impact while shaping innovative climate programs.

About You

You bring experience in program or project delivery ideally within climate energy or sustainability along with strong analytical research and problem-solving skills.

You are adept at managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and have excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities. You are also focused on delivering practical outcomes-driven solutions that create meaningful impact.

You are a proactive collaborative professional with strong communication and project management skills. You bring expertise in net zero frameworks such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol or the Science Based Targets or a technical background and are confident supporting grant processes from assessment to milestone review.

Essential Requirements

  • Knowledge of the operational requirements for the successful delivery of sustainability climate change resilience adaptation and/or net zero emissions programs
  • Project management skills demonstrating the ability to deliver agreed outcomes on time on budget and to quality standards and demonstrated time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.

The Department of Climate Change Energy the Environment and Water(DCCEEW) work to protect the states environment and heritage. It leads the way on climate change driving the sustainable transition to a net zero economy powered by affordable reliable and clean energy.

DCCEEW conserves and protects the states natural environment. It manages the NSW national park estate including its rich and diverse biodiversity and Aboriginal cultural heritage for future generations.

DCCEEW also ensures sustainable management of water resources across the state to support the environment communities and industry.

We acknowledge the ongoing custodial responsibilities of the Aboriginal peoples of NSW to care for Country and water and are committed to establishing meaningful partnerships with Aboriginal peoples in the management of the environment.
