Traveling Data Center Manager

Carrier Commercial Services has an opening for an experiencedTraveling Chiller TechnicianService Manager. The Service Manager will work with a group of Operations Professionals and Union Field Technicians to efficiently execute planned maintenance and installations of big commercial projectsin an effort toexceed the expectations of our customers and meet revenue and margin targets. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of commercial air conditioning business including but not limited to relationship management talent development field operations and safety.

This role will require the Service Manager to be inthefield60% of the time and40%of the time in the office.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary customer-facing representative embodying and promoting the Carrier brand.

• Lead the hiring process for Data Center technicians ensuring theselectionof qualified candidates.

• Oversee onboarding of new technicians including safety orientation training procedures and provisioning of devices and equipment.

• Serve as the union liaisonfacilitatingcommunication andmaintainingpositive relations between Carrier and union representatives.

• Conduct job site safety inspections and organize quarterly safety meetings to reinforce safety culture.

• Interact regularly with the master scheduler to ensure technician staffing needs are accurately met for each project.

• Manage requests for tools personal protective equipment (PPE) vehicles and uniforms for field teams.

• Maintain responsibility for fleet management ensuring vehicles are properly assignedmaintained and available.

• Approve daily timesheets and travel requests for Data Center technicians.

• Travel to Data Center sites to oversee operations and support field teams.

• Forecast monitor and document financial performance againstplan

• Coordinateprioritizeand resolve issuesencounteredby the team.

• Optimizethe usage ofmanpower standard timeequipmentand energy to complete openwork

• Escalate critical/complex issues that willimpactthebusiness

• Manage the team according to established programs andobjectives

• Implement monitor manage the quality ofwork

• Respond to key customer complaints carry out customer satisfactioninvestigationsand ensure establishment ofappropriate improvementplans

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

• 10 years of experience in commercial HVAC and/or in the service industry.

• 3 years experiencemanagingand or trainingfield service teams including union technicians with a focus on performance andefficiency.

• Ability to Travel

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in engineering Information Technology or a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

• Expertisein startup and commissioning of industrial HVAC systems and understanding of data center reliability standards.

• Strong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems including diagnostics controls andmaintenance.

• Familiarity with safety standards building codes and compliancerequirements.

• Proven ability to build customer relationships and resolve issueseffectively.

• Proficient in ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) Microsoft Office and dispatch tools

• Skilled in budgeting forecasting and resource planning

• Clear and confident communicator with all organizational levels

• Flexible and hands-on comfortable in both office and field environments
