Description

The HR Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support for Human Resources and other organizational leaders while ensuring a welcoming and professional front office environment. This position assists with various administrative tasks including recruiting handling confidential information filing documentation and communicating with insurance carriers for claims related to HR matters. This role will support the company culture committee to help foster a positive environment and develop good working relationships across the organization.

Requirements

  • Assists HR with administrative tasks such as the processing of claims for disability workers comp Paid Family Leave unemployment and voluntary benefits. Maintain HR personnel files benefits administration and various communication letters to employees.
  • Assist with recruiting including reviewing and screening candidates and scheduling interviews.
  • Assists HR as needed with onboarding of new employees.
  • Assists with the planning and coordination of various company events (such as employee service awards employee outings and community events).
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information
  • Maintains inventory of office supplies and company apparel
  • Ordering of all supplies and management of office vendor services in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Coordinates meetings and catering as needed.
  • Handles the incoming and outgoing mail and the servicing of the postage machine.
  • Serves as an active member of the Culture Committee
  • Keeps HR informed of employee issues and concerns they are made aware of or observes.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Schedual: Monday - Friday 8am-4:30pm - 100% In Person

Education: High School diploma required 2-year college degree in business program would be preferred.

Experience: Prior experience with office administration/reception HR/Payroll would be preferred;

Skills Required: Utmost confidentiality a must. Customer service and solid computer skills data entry and excellent telephone etiquette required. Requires the ability to multi-task. Experience working with Excel and various system portals.

Physical Demands: Sit up to 8hours/day; ability to lift up to 25-lbs on occasion. Freedom to move around.

Work Environment: Open reception work area in office setting; business/casual attire.
