JOB GOAL:
To help students in the Health Science/Medical Professions career pathway develop the professional and technical skills and knowledge required to forge forward in exploring careers in the medical career strand by connecting students to mentors real client-based projects and internships to enhance learning experiences.
SALARY AND TERMS
This position is Nine an one-fourth (9.25) month contract (190 days) plus a benefits package.NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based on experience and LRSDs salary placement guidelines.FLSA: EXEMPT
QUALIFICATION:
1. Minimum of a Technical Certificate or Associates degree from an accredited college or university and possess a state license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Practical Nurse (PN).
2. Satisfactory work experience to qualify for a technical permit issued by the Arkansas Department of Education.
3. Must meet requirements to be employed as an adjunct instructor post-secondary institution.
4. Strong knowledge of medical and health practices and procedures terminology and ethics.
5. Strong desire to expose students to career opportunities in the field.
REPORTS TO:
Principal
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.
1. Create and maintain professional relationships with students
2. Facilitate project-based classroom as lead learner
3. Guide students on professional projects and industry certifications.
4. Establish a professional business environment for the students
5. Collaborate with the post secondary institutions to meet requirements for students to earn concurrent credit
6. Communicate with medical and health experts to establish mentorships and internships for students
7. Speak to groups about the other program offered through Metopolitan Career Technical Center.
8. Engage with professional organizations that promote medical and health careers
9. Follow the district/school policies and procedures for grading.
10. Maintain and sustain a strong local advisory group.
11. Recruit students for the medical and health science career pathway.
12. Attend required summer professional development provided by the district or the post-secondary institution.
13. Job performance will be evaluated using the Teacher Excellence and Support System adoped by the Arkansas Department of Education and Little Rock School District
