The Faculty of Arts Society and Business brings together disciplines across Business Education Law Social Sciences Creative Arts Humanities and Liberal Arts. The Faculty is committed to developing graduates who think critically act creatively and engage globally.
This position sits within the School of Social Sciences and supports the delivery of field education for the Bachelor of Social Work Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) and Master of Social Work (Qualifying) programs. Working under the guidance of the Director of Social Work Placements the role plays a central part in coordinating high quality professional placements across the Wollongong Liverpool and Shoalhaven regions.
About the Role
The Field Education Coordinator is responsible for implementing and managing the Social Work field education program ensuring high quality placement experiences that meet accreditation legislative and professional standards. You will build and maintain strong relationships with government and non government agencies coordinate student placements and support students supervisors and field educators throughout the placement lifecycle.
The role involves conducting pre placement interviews monitoring student progress addressing issues as they arise and contributing to induction sessions integration workshops and supervisor training. You will also support continuous improvement of field education processes maintain accurate records and systems and contribute to School operations and student focused events.
This role suits someone with social work qualifications strong relationship building skills excellent communication and the ability to manage complex tasks with professionalism and care. The position is part time at 14 hours per week worked across Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
This position will work across Wollongong and Liverpool campuses (with Hybrid opportunities). Travel may be expected between the two campuses. Placement finding and support to students on placement will primarily focus on the Sydney region as well as the geographical footprint of the Social Work program at UOW.
