RecoTek is Reconomys new centralized technology hub located in Bucharest Romania officially launched in February 2024. Serving as the backbone of Reconomys tech operations it consolidates inhouse expertise across all Reconomy brands to accelerate platform development and enhance service delivery.

Re-use loop is providing intelligent technology platforms and agile delivery models for pre-retail logistics and product returns fulfilment and processing on behalf of many of Europes largest retailers.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our growing data team and play a key role in shaping and modernising our data landscape.

This is a hands-on delivery-focused role where you will design build and optimise data pipelines enabling better decision-making improved customer experience and scalable data solutions across the business.

Youll work closely with Product Business Analysts and Engineering teams to turn data into real business value.

What we need from you

What youll be doing

Design build and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines (batch & streaming)
Transform business requirements into practical data solutions and datasets
Improve and modernise legacy data flows and architectures
Ensure data quality validation and reliability across systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product BA Engineering)
Support data integrations across platforms and systems
Optimise performance cost and scalability of data solutions
Enable self-service analytics through clean and well-structured data models

What were looking for

Strong experience in building and maintaining data pipelines and data models
Solid SQL skills and understanding of data architecture principles
Experience working with Azure data technologies (ADF Synapse Data Lake etc.)
Knowledge of data transformation ingestion and orchestration
Familiarity with CI/CD version control and testing practices
Experience working in Agile environments
Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice to have

Experience with tools like Databricks or NoSQL databases
Exposure to data governance metadata or cataloguing tools
Experience working with unstructured data or OCR workflows
Understanding of data visualisation tools or ML frameworks
