AIC (Advanced Infusion Care) is looking for a customer service oriented and motivated individual for the role ofPharmacy Technician. A full description of essential duties and responsibilities for the role as well as education/experience and qualification requirements are outlined below.
Hours: 8:30am to 5:00pm PCT; Monday - Friday

Wage:$19.00 to $26.00 an hour based on years of experience
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting with compounding of sterile preparations and the assembly of patient supplies and equipment under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The pharmacy technician also assists with quality control maintenance and cleaning of the pharmacy work areas as described in the Pharmacy Policy and Procedures Manual and performance improvement activities as directed by the pharmacy manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recognizes patients rights and responsibilities and supports them in the performance of job duties; respects patients rights to privacy and confidentiality.
Prepares packages and distributes medications prescribed by physicians.
Prepares and dispenses Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPNs) and prescription IV drug therapy and supplies for home infusion patients in an accurate and timely fashion in accordance with all legal requirements.
Ensures sterile and precise preparations of hazardous and non-hazardous IV drug therapy to promote health and safety of patients and to prevent exposure of hazardous chemicals to employees.
Continually maintains IV room and surrounding pharmacy area to ensure a clean well-stocked condition.
Maintains staging area to set up drug and supply orders for preparation by staff in the clean room.
Sets up TPN Compounder prior to use.
Calibrates pumps daily for base solutions.
Accurately compounds and checks compounded sterile products.
Obtains interprets and evaluates all physician medication orders.
Verifies accuracy of dispensing medical and laboratory data.
Assists with labeling to complete IV therapy work orders.
Accurately maintains all legally required records.
Ensures compliance with federal state and local laws and regulations.
Participates in patient evaluations.
Assists the supervisor in training of new staff and provides appropriate feedback as necessary.
Assists pharmacists physicians nursing and clinical personnel with pharmacy services.
Maintains department facilities equipment and materials in a condition to promote efficiency health comfort and safety of patients and staff.
Follows and assists in inventory control procedures.
Completes paperwork and computer related duties.
Shares knowledge gained with other staff members and works as a team member.
Interacts with others in a positive respectful and considerate manner.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must pass all pharmacy and sterile compounding competencies within the first 90 days of employment.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in the workplace.
Demonstrate extreme attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Basic computer proficiency.
Knowledge in the use of Microsoft applications.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent is required.
Registration with the practicing states Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire is required.
Completion of pharmacy technician training and certified through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Pharmacy Technician Association required with certification to be completed within 12 months of employment.
Laboratory or healthcare experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
