Legal Counsel Construction & Commercial (mfd)

Deep Blue Recruitment is supporting a fast-growing internationally active business operating across complex technical projects. As part of its continued expansion the company is looking to hire a Legal Counsel with strong expertise in construction and commercial contract law.

This role sits at the intersection of legal project delivery and commercial strategy with exposure to cross-border operations and high-value projects.

Tasks

• Drafting reviewing and negotiating contracts with clients subcontractors and suppliers aligned with commercial objectives and internal policies
• Managing the full contract lifecycle including documentation amendments and performance tracking
• Supporting the management of commercial agreements such as leases and software contracts
• Working closely with People teams to ensure employment law compliance across different jurisdictions
• Acting as a point of contact for external counsel and coordinating legal advice where required
• Preparing clear concise contract and risk reports for senior management
• Collaborating with project and finance teams to ensure smooth contract execution
• Monitoring legal and regulatory developments relevant to construction and infrastructure projects including sustainability-related topics
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members on contract management best practices

Requirements

• Fully qualified lawyer in Germany (Volljurist:in)
• 3-7 years experience in construction infrastructure or project-based environments
• Strong knowledge of international contract frameworks such as FIDIC with experience handling claims and EOT matters
• Familiarity with German standard forms (VOB/B BGB) is advantageous
• Broader understanding of commercial employment and corporate law
• Fluent in German and English
• Strong negotiation skills with a clear pragmatic communication style
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced international environment
