Position Overview
Seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to support the Civil Division in representing the federal government in civil litigation. This role provides direct support to Attorneys and plays a critical role in case preparation document management legal research and trial support.
Key Responsibilities
- Review organize and manage large volumes of documents including emails agency records and court filings.
- Track court deadlines and assist attorneys with litigation calendars.
- Draft and format pleadings motions exhibits and legal documents.
- Conduct factual and legal research and prepare summaries and memoranda.
- Coordinate with federal agencies to obtain records and ensure compliance with court orders.
- Create and maintain spreadsheets and databases for case tracking.
- Prepare exhibits charts and visual materials for hearings and trials.
- Use litigation support and document management software.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of civil litigation.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant paralegal or legal support experience preferably in litigation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to efficiently review and manage large volumes of documents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting civil litigation particularly in a government environment.
- Familiarity with federal court procedures and filings.
- Experience with large-scale document review or eDiscovery.
Security Clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Justice security clearance is required.
Work Environment
This is an office-based position with government-furnished equipment. Some walking standing bending and carrying small office items may be required.
