Summary
Primary duties of a purchasing assistant is working closely with Sanford departments to process orders requested by end users. Maintain purchase orders and address purchasing issues until the products are delivered received and invoices are paid to close the purchase order.Job Description
Procurement of items through the creation of Purchase orders submitted to suppliers monitoring and expediting orders as requested. Resolves shipments errors with suppliers. Strive to achieve maximum value in the purchase of materials and services per established contracts. Negotiate terms price and conditions in the event of a non-established contract. Such conditions include the purchasing of supplies equipment services shipping and returning of product for credit with assigned categories. Must be able to work and communicate with all levels of internal staff external manufacturers and distributors in reference to ordering receiving payment or requisitions and issue purchase orders for supplies and equipment in a timely manner. Follow up on past due purchase orders. Validate and resolve pricing discrepancies. Process vendor returns. Strong communication skills in both written and verbal forms. Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Bachelors degree preferred.Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook). Proficient in ERP software. Minimum of 1 year of experience in purchasing preferred.
