Job Summary
Job Title:Community Outreach Coordinator
Type: Full-Time
Salary: $19.57 - $24.74 per hour depending on experience
Oversees Klamath County Museums program for extending local history resources to primary and secondary students in Klamath County; assists as needed in other Museum special projects and programs; coordinates training of museum volunteers; occasionally substitutes in other Museum functions; works under the direction of the Curation Manager and the Klamath County Museum Director.
Essential Functions
The following may not be all inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
Serve as liaison to local schools to encourage interdisciplinary student/classroom participation with the Klamath County Museum system.
Oversee the development and implementation of an educational outreach program for Klamath County Museums.
Assist with the organization and coordination of Museum programs with the Klamath County Historical Society and the Klamath County Museum Foundation.
Organize coordinate and work Klamath County Museum special events.
Participate and staff Klamath County Museum tables and booths at vendor events.
Schedule and lead workshops presentations and educational tours for diverse audiences including schools and community groups.
Lead docent and volunteer program; to include but not limited to overseeing orientation training and organizing volunteers and docents for teaching tours and community outreach and fostering partnerships within the local community.
Work with Museum Director and Curation Manager to brainstorm and implement strategies for increasing Museum attendance among Klamath students and the general public.
Create and lead year-round educational programs. Outreach programming will include a combination of on-site programs off-site field programs and special events.
Assist in the design of creative marketing and social media campaigns to expand public awareness of the Museums outreach activities and programs.
Support the Museum Director in aligning school tours and outreach programs with strategic objectives.
Assist in promoting and evaluating outreach programs implementing surveys to gauge program satisfaction and gathering data for grant and institutional needs.
Devise and execute captivating educational programs tied to each exhibition and exhibit.
Utilize the Museums current teaching collection and further develop additional teacher resources for exhibitions and exhibits.
Collaborate on interactive experiences to elevate visitor engagement with exhibitions and exhibits.
Occasionally substitutes in other positions in the Museum system including primarily reception at the front desk Bal

Education Certification & Experience
Requires bachelors degree in Museum Studies Education or a related field.
Current Oregon Drivers License
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Language Skills
Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word and PowerPoint Word Processing software.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Work Schedule
The normal work schedule is 8.00 hours per day 5 days per week generally Tuesday through Saturday; exact schedules are assigned by management. It is the attendance standards of the employer that all employees be present and on time each shift they are scheduled to work. Full or partial absence during any scheduled shift arriving late or leaving early for whatever reason may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. Time off may be approved if allowed by applicable policies covering illness injury or other personal emergency.
