We are seeking a skilled Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient-centered care in a progressive care environment. The RN will care for patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing interventions bridging the gap between ICU and general medical-surgical care.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to Stepdown/Progressive Care patients
Monitor cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic status
Administer medications IV therapies and treatments as prescribed
Perform detailed patient assessments and document clinical findings
Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition promptly
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery processes
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility standards
Float to similar units as needed to support patient care
Requirements
Experience
Minimum 18 months of recent Stepdown or Progressive Care experience required
Prior permanent (non-travel) experience in specialty required
PCU experience preferred
Certifications
Active RN License (Ohio or Compact State) Required
BLS (Basic Life Support) AHA required
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) AHA required
NIHSS Certification required
Skills
Strong cardiac monitoring and ECG interpretation skills
Critical thinking and rapid decision-making abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced high-acuity environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Schedule & Work Conditions
Rotating day/night shifts (3x12 schedule)
Must be flexible to work both shifts based on operational needs
Weekend and holiday requirements (every other holiday required)
Floating to similar units may be required
Block scheduling not available
