Hourly Wage Range: $28.50 $38.00
Role Purpose:
The Road Supervisoris responsibleforsafelymonitoringvehicle operations. The primaryobjectiveof the Road Supervisor is to ensure operators are providing a safereliableand friendly transportation to supervisingoperators which may include recommendations for hiring performance evaluation training work allocation and problem organizing and conducting classroom and behind-the wheel(BTW)training sessions.
Knowledge and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- MustPossess a validCaliforniaCommercialDriversLicense (Class BCDL withpassenger endorsement& air brake endorsements).
- Acurrent Verification of Transit Training (VTT) certificateisrequiredprior toparticipatingin revenue service
- Must providea currentDrivers Recordto verify an acceptable driving record.
- Atminimum of 2 yearsof experiencerequiredas afull-timeoperator
- Knowledge of project specific vehiclescomponentsand data/communications systems
- Knowledge of State and Federal regulations and corporate safety programs and policies
- Strong customer service attitude
- Ability to read write and speak English
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with all departments
- Ability to work independently and objectively
- Intermediate knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Suite

Key Accountabilities:
Road Supervisor
- Oversee driver and vehicle operations. Enhance customer service support drivers during revenue service respond to accidents or incidentsmonitorcondition of bus stops assess operating conditions and on-time performance and conduct passenger counts or surveys.
- Responsible for regularly checking functionality of on-street real-time signage. Any equipment thatappears to bemalfunctioning must be reported to ECCTA staff in writingimmediately.
- Successful completion ofKeolisOperator Training Reasonable Suspicion TrainingandCustomer Service Trainingin accordance withthe goals andobjectives
- Assistacross theentireservice areabased on business needs. High ridership locations specifically Antioch BART and Pittsburg-Bay Point BART stations and Los Medanos College Pittsburg Campuswill be attendedduring at a minimum peak service times.
- Shallconduct a minimum of 30 ride-alongsand/or road observations per month. These observations are essential to promote safe driving behaviors and ensure driver compliance with operational policies.
- Road observations involve supervisorsmonitoringdrivers in real-time while theyoperaterevenue service along assigned routes. The primaryobjectivesinclude verifying adherence to safety protocolsevaluatingon-time performance confirmingheadsignaccuracyidentifyingoperational issues and providing constructive feedback to drivers.
- All observations must be formally documented and documentation must besubmittedto ECCTA upon request.
- First line of response in service delivery for incidents and accidents.Mustrespond to accidentsandmustfollow all reporting policies and be willing to have flexibility with schedule and/or work split shifts weekends and holidays.
- Monitoroperatorsin servicetoensuretheymeet uniform and equipment standards and are in possession of proper licensing and certifications.
- Assistdispatch staff with vehicle change outs that occur in the field
- Provide feedback to safety and operations departments on service items that affect safety and performanceidentifypotential safety hazards and provide feedback to be incorporated into daily operations procedures
- Follow company safety and operational rules and procedures
- Ability to work under stress and meet strict timelines
- HandleSpecial Event management
- Monitor AM and PM Pull-Outs and Pull-Ins
- Inspects vehicles for damage and compliance with safety standards
- Coach employees based on onboard surveillance technologyand observation in the field
- Maybe assigned tooperatea vehicleor dispatch servicein an emergency
- Makes regular observations of operators to ensure high-quality service provision
- Supports operations at transfer centers and other high passenger-volume locations to ensure smooth service delivery and high customer service
- Supports investigations of passenger concerns

- Accountable for driver group safety performance
- Conducts field supervision of theoperatorsto assess performance and competence
- Prepares and delivers regular driver scorecard results coaching drivers to ensure continual improvement

- Assistsin the investigation of and response to customer comments
- Buildsa positive relationship withtheoperators
- Addresses driver performance issues providing coachingwhen appropriate
- Acts as liaison between drivers and other departments
Training
- May provide behind-the-wheel(BTW)training for new operators and trainees
- Conducts on-board evaluations and in service training to operators according to schedule and/or need
- ProvidesBTWretraining as directed
- Evaluates new operator driving skills usingappropriate checklistsand evaluation forms.
- Providesappropriate feedbackto new operators
- Servesas role model and mentor to new operators
- Identifiesretraining needs
- Recognizes andreportssafe and unsafe acts / conditions to Management.
- Provides feedback to SafetyManager Assistant General ManagerTraining Manager and otherappropriate staffregardingtraining needs
- Assiststraining department inidentifyingadditionalor refresher training needs based on current trends within the employee base
- Other duties as assigned
