Job Summary
Job Title: Data Governance SME (Data Architecture Focus)
Location: Jersey City NJ

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Governance SME with strong expertise in data architecture and governance frameworks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing current data ecosystems defining target-state architectures and aligning data governance initiatives with enterprise and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess current data architecture including data warehouses data lakes and data pipelines
- Map end-to-end data flows across systems and applications
- Identify gaps impacting data lineage data quality and governance
- Evaluate ETL/ELT pipelines (SQL Spark legacy systems)
- Define target-state architecture aligned with governance tools and frameworks
- Recommend integration patterns (API-based event-driven architectures)
- Validate the feasibility of proposed data and governance solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align architecture with governance objectives
- Ensure adherence to Agile/Scrum practices and SDLC processes
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Data Governance (Design Development & Implementation)
- Strong understanding of data architecture (warehouse lake pipelines)
- Experience with data lineage data quality and governance frameworks
- Hands-on experience with SQL Spark and ETL/ELT pipelines
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and SDLC
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Banking / Financial Services domain
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g. BCBS 239)
- Experience with data governance and catalog tools (Collibra Alation Informatica)
