Your role and responsibilities

As a Project Manager within Public Health and Communities youll play a key role in delivering a programme of change across the Childrens Community Health Services which includes the 0-19 Healthy Child Service. Your work will directly contribute to improving health and wellbeing outcomes for children young people and their families in Suffolk.

On a typical day you might be working with partners across the Suffolk system developing business cases reviewing service models or leading transformation projects from concept to delivery. Youll balance strategic thinking with hands-on project management ensuring progress quality and impact at every stage.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing complex projects within the Healthy Child Service ensuring delivery against agreed outcomes timescales and budgets.
  • Coordinating work to support the transfer out of Integrated Care Board (ICB) commissioned services.
  • Reviewing current estate usage and working with corporate property and partners to develop a future estates strategy.
  • Delivering projects that support digital transformation across the Healthy Child Service.
  • Producing key papers business cases costbenefit analyses and benefits realisation plans.
  • Managing stakeholders across the Council NHS local authorities and wider public sector partners.
  • Ensuring appropriate governance equality impact assessments GDPR compliance and information governance arrangements are in place.
  • Leading engagement and communication with stakeholders and service users to support service change.

You will need

Were looking for someone who is motivated by improving outcomes for children young people and families and who enjoys working collaboratively in a complex system.

  • Degree-level education or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Proven project or programme management experience in a public service or large complex organisation.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement influencing and communication skills.
  • Experience of service redesign business analysis or transformation activity.
  • An evidence-led approach to problem solving monitoring and evaluation.
  • Confidence working in a matrix environment and across organisational boundaries.
  • A commitment to equality diversity and inclusion and alignment with our WE ASPIRE values.

Youll join the Public Health and Communities Directorate working within the Children & Families Team. The Directorates mission is to work in partnership to build the foundations for Healthy People Healthy Places and Healthy Futures and safer stronger and more resilient communities in Suffolk.
