About the Position
Chevron ENGINE has an exciting opportunity for a Machinery Engineer to join the Discipline Engineering team. Reporting to the Discipline Engineering Manager this role will be based in Chevrons office in Bengaluru.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Provides technical support for gas turbines centrifugal and positive displacement pumping systems reciprocating compressor systems and the design of onshore and offshore lifting devices.
Consults on pump and mechanical seal selection and performance evaluation.
Consults on reciprocating compressor performance evaluation and operational troubleshooting.
Reconciles Chevron Engineering Standards requirements versus industry standards and provides work to draft engineering standard revisions.
Contributes to Machinery Research & Development projects.
Influences and collaborates with customers to solve technical problems with the best risk-based solution
Supports project concept development scoping equipment selection application evaluation supplier selection writing specifications performing bid analysis designing equipment facilitating testing assisting with field startup performing troubleshooting using and implementing digital solutions and leading failure analysis.
Supports machinery fleet reliability and performance optimization though the collection quality control and analysis of operational reliability data. Works with monitoring team to incorporate equipment health and performance data with operational reliability trends. Assist with the identification of improvement opportunities and best practices to share across the fleet.
Support the collection and management of machinery parts and service bulletin tracking systems. Track and optimize the life of machinery capital spare parts.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related from a recognized (AICTE) university.
Extensive experience in rotating equipment operation maintenance system optimization and machinery condition monitoring analysis.
Field experience in an operating environment.
Extensive knowledge of machinery design theory sizing and application to support early concepts engineering.
Experience with reliability analysis or applied statistics to drive business improvements
Preferred Qualifications
10 years of experience in an Oil and Gas operating facility.
Advanced degree in Mechanicalor Reliability Engineering (Masters or Doctorate)
Vibration Analyst Certification Level I or II.
Experience with Rotodynamic analysis software.
Oil & gas or petrochemical experience or experience working with a machinery fabricator
