Steel Worker-Welder-Millwright

As part of the continued growth of current and future projects Meldrum Mechanical Services is a 24/7 service company that requires an experienced Welder/Millwright to join our team.

Responsibilities:

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Knowledge of various welding techniques including TIG & MIG
• Weld and fabricate parts as needed
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues
• Conduct routine inspections to identify potential problems
• Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) gas metal arc welding (GMAW) flus-cored arc welding (FCAW) shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)
• Perform grinding chipping and other metal preparation tasks prior to welding
• Inspect welds and ensure they meet quality standards
• Field work is required

Experience:

• Previous experience as a Millwright or in a similar role
• Proficiency in safety protocols including wearing heat resistant gloves flame resistant clothing protective masks and safety footwear
• Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to work with precision measuring instruments
• Experience with stick welding is a plus
• Certifications a must we also provide annual training. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with: professional certifications successful completion of apprenticeship

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• Weekends as needed
