Optician Lead

Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Lead Optician to join our Burnsville Optical team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

Position Summary:

Provides direct patient care as well as supervises the daily optical store operations for a designated store. Supports optical within designated store. Supports nonexempt employees. Assures goals and objectives obtained through procedures systems and support personnel. Demonstrates competency using Park Nicollet standards for customer service. They provide leadership by acting as a role model special projects manager trainer and mentor to new and existing employees.

Work Schedule:

• Monday thru Friday 8:30am to 5pm
• Occasional Saturdays 8:00am to Noon.

Required Qualifications:

• Education Experience or Equivalent Combination:
  • One or more years-related experience or high school graduates with three or more years-related experience required.
• Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
  • ABO certification required within three years of date of hire.
• Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • Competency in all mechanical and instrument skills within the scope of an optician.
  • Knowledge of basic optics and products which reflect traditional practices and services of an optician.
  • Effective verbal communication human relations and salesmanship.

  • Proven proficiency in the operation of the following: Eyewear measuring devices P.O.S. Computer telephone photocopier credit card terminal and fax machine.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education Experience or Equivalent Combination:
  • 1-3 years of leadership experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of optical experience
• Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
  • American Board of Opticianry certification
• Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • Competency in all mechanical and instrument skills within the scope of opticianry.
  • Knowledge of basic optics and products which reflect traditional practices and services of opticianry.
  • Effective verbal communication human relations and salesmanship.
